About UsA dozen years ago on a lonely night, a young wrecker driver noticed a light in the trees just off U.S. Highway 183 in Cedar Park. Joey Smith called 9-1-1 and quickly investigated. He found a young girl pinned in her car. Smith comforted her while he waited for EMS to rescue her. Smith cited that event as the night he decided that when he found someone in need he was going to help. Joey then worked for Jim Lynch, owner of Cedar Park Wrecker at the time. Lynch has been a mentor for Joey and has contributed greatly to his business success.

Cedar Park Wrecker owners Joey and Kassie Smith have personalized community service by going all out to help people in need. The Smiths specialize in helping children who have been burned, children fighting cancer or any family in distress.

Tanner Evers was taking chemotherapy in the fight for his young life. When fundraising efforts were explored, Joey and Kassie offered to not only cook, but furnish the meat for a barbecue dinner, raising over $7,000. Tanner is now in remission and a happy young man with plenty of energy, according to his mom.
Casey Smith was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 6. The Smiths stepped up, furnished and cooked the barbecue and Casey, now 11, lives happily in North Carolina.

When Christopher French was burned over 90 percent of his body, the Smiths stepped in again for the charity dinner and Christopher is getting better and one day will have a normal life.

When Bradley McMellon was swept away in a flood, Joey and Kassie were there to help the family hunt for Bradley and finally to grieve with the family.
These are a few of the stories that show why Cedar Park Wrecker was voted Best of the Best.

The wrecker business is helping people when they need a lift. It can be roadside assistance for a flat or unlocking a car with the owner’s keys inside. Of course, Cedar Park Wrecker never charges for unlocking a car that a child is locked in — no one with that problem need worry about the cost.

Cedar Park Wrecker can haul just about anything with its big towing and recovery truck. They are currently expanding their services to include large hauling equipment, and can haul bulldozers, tractors, or backhoes. Cedar Park Wrecker even runs a “hot shot” service for companies that need to get their equipment and supplies to other locations fast.

If you’re in an accident in Austin, Cedar Park, Leander, Round Rock or anywhere in Williamson or Travis County, and Cedar Park Wrecker shows up, you know you will be working with a company that puts community first. Hill Country News readers voted them their favorite wrecker service for good reason. If you need help, call Joey or Kassie at (512) 267-5100.
